Registration open for the 3rd annual event

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais presents the third annual Holiday Homes & Holly Jolly Lighting Contest sponsored by Brandon Casey's Comfort Crew and Flight 102 Wine Bar. The community event encourages outdoor festive lighting and decorations during the holiday season. An online map of all entry addresses will be available for public viewing December 4 through the 25. Returning this year is the option to choose participation solely as a Holiday Home on the tour or be additionally included in the Holly Jolly Lighting Contest.

10-year rebate program confirmed

Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Board of Trustees approved a resolution, Monday, October 17, at the bi-monthly board meeting stating the intent of the village board concerning use of proposed increased sales tax for property tax relief, as stated on the November 8 general election ballot.

Working together to prevent crime

Bourbonnais, IL – Bourbonnais Police invite village residents and businesses to attend Community Townhall Meetings on Wednesday, October 19, and Wednesday, October 26. The meetings are part of new safety initiatives spearheaded by Patrol Commander, Brent Barrie.

The goal of the townhall meetings is to bring Bourbonnais residents together to discuss interest in forming neighborhood watch groups, review different ways to heighten awareness, increase residential communications, address potential concerns and help prevent crime, together.

Annual informational event welcomes all

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais invites residents and businesses to attend a Community Open House on Tuesday, October 11, 5:30-7:00 p.m. The event will take place in the newly renovated Community Room within the Bourbonnais Municipal Center at 700 Main St. NW. All are welcome to attend and meet with elected officials, village management and staff in a casual environment.

1% Sales Tax Proposed for Property Tax Relief

Bourbonnais, IL - Village of Bourbonnais trustees adopted an ordinance to place a referendum on the November election ballot for Bourbonnais residents to decide if they should add 1 percent to its sales tax at Monday's board meeting.

2nd year welcomed more food, more music, more hours, more family-fun

Bourbonnais, IL - The Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest, presented by Brandon Casey's Comfort Crew, trucked into town Saturday, August 27th, for the second annual event. In tow were a total of 15 food trucks, six hours of live music and a free kid zone. The end-of-summer community celebration was extended from 3pm to 9pm and free admission enticed thousands who came hungry and left happy.

Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Friendship Festival returns for its 47th year Wednesday, June 22 through Sunday, June 26, at Goselin Park on the Bourbonnais Municipal Center grounds 700 Main St. NW. In preparation for the five-day festival, the following will undergo temporary closures:

Bourbonnais Police pass the torch June 15

Bourbonnais, IL – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois will make its way through Kankakee County on Wednesday, June 15. Police officers throughout the county will be participating in the intrastate relay. Bourbonnais Police will be passed the Flame of Hope and begin their role as “Guardians of the Flame” – this year’s theme of the run – starting around 1:00 p.m. from 9000N Road in Manteno and heading southbound on N. Convent St. (Route 45) in Bourbonnais.

Free admission for the community

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais released its “Sizzlin’ Summer 2022” June schedule of events. The lineup includes community favorites such as Yoga in the Park, Movies in the Park and the unofficial kick off to summer with the 47th year of the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival. All events are free for the public and registration is not required.

Sztuba completes School of Police Staff & Command

Bourbonnais, IL — The Bourbonnais Police Department is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Sergeant Jason Sztuba from the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Northwestern University. Sergeant Sztuba successfully completed the ten-week, 400-hour Police Staff and Command program January 3 - May 6, 2022. He graduated in SPSC Class #514 which included a total of 33 students.
