Outdoor ice rink debuts at The Grove

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais announces its mobile ice rink is ready to roll! “The Rink” will officially open Friday, November 29, with an “open skate” during The Grove hours of 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Outside skates are welcome and a ticket is not required. The synthetic 73-foot by 50-foot outdoor rink is located at a new home this year at The Grove at Goselin Park 700 Main St. NW. “Open skate” times are Thursday through Sunday, weather permitting.

Fifth annual event welcomes all ages

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais presents the fifth annual “Very Merry Coloring Contest” sponsored by Aqua Illinois and Ahhh…Massage. This free activity is open to village residents and provides a festive experience for all ages.

The custom Bourbonnais coloring page can be downloaded and printed from villageofbourbonnais.com. Printed copies are also available at the Administration Office during business hours at 600 Main Street NW.

Registration now open for fifth annual event

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais presents the fifth annual Holiday Homes & Holly Jolly Lighting Contest. The community event encourages residential outdoor festive lighting and decorations during the holiday season. An online map of all entry addresses will be available for public viewing December 6 through the 25. Returning this year is the option to be featured solely as a ‘Holiday Home’ on the tour and be listed in the online map, or additionally be included in the ‘Holly Jolly Lighting Contest’. Registration is now open for village residents through Monday, December 2, at 4:30 p.m.

Bourbonnais Police Welcome First Canine 

Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Police Department announces its first canine unit will be officially sworn in at the Village of Bourbonnais Board Meeting next Monday, November 4, at 5:30 p.m., in the Municipal Center at 700 Main St. NW. Canine handler, Sergeant Tim Banks, has been a member of the Bourbonnais Police Department since 2013 and will oversee canine officer, Knight – a 5-1/2-year-old Belgian Malinois.

Splash pad open at The Grove through September 22

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais announces its splash pad located at The Grove at Goselin Park, 700 Main St. NW, will remain open through Sunday, September 22.  

National acts perform for The Grove Premier

Bourbonnais, IL – Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest, presented by Brandon Casey’s Comfort Crew, rolls into the village, Saturday, August 17, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The fourth annual event, hosted by the Village of Bourbonnais, features the premier of The Grove – a 12.5-acre, all-season cultural, recreational and economic hub located at Goselin Park 700 Main St. NW.

Mosquito Fogging - What to Know

Bourbonnais, IL – As summer is quickly approaching, our Public Works team is preparing to start their seasonal mosquito ‘fogging’ to reduce the mosquito population in our area. 

The operation will begin with treatment of standing water, but our Public Works department will use a misting, or ‘fogging,’ technique starting Monday, June 3. 

Police pass the torch June 5

Bourbonnais, IL – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois will make its way through Kankakee County Wednesday, June 5. Police officers throughout the county will be participating in the intrastate relay. Bourbonnais Police will be passed the Flame of Hope and begin their role as “Guardians of the Flame” beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m. from 9000N Road in Manteno and heading southbound on N. Convent St. (Route 45/52).

Planting season May 1–Nov 1

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais is pleased to announce the return of its community garden at Jordan Park. The six-feet-by-four-feet plots are offered to village residents to rent for $10 each and on a first come, first served basis. Applications are now available here and in person at the Administration Office at 600 Main Street NW. Planting season blossoms from May 1 through November 1.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over this St. Patrick’s Day

Bourbonnais, IL — St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, and many Illinoisans will be celebrating with parades and parties featuring green beer and cocktails. To remind motorists of the dangers of drunk driving and to help keep our streets safe, Bourbonnais Police is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Transportation for a stepped-up traffic safety campaign beginning Friday, March 8, through Monday, March 18.
