Bourbonnais, IL — Effective immediately, the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners for the Village of Bourbonnais is accepting applications for the position of Lateral Entry Officer for the Bourbonnais Police Department. The 29-member department is led by Chief Jim Phelps, Deputy Chief, Dave Anderson, and Patrol Commander, Brent Barrie.

Bourbonnais, IL – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois will make its way through Kankakee County on Wednesday, June 7. Police officers throughout the county will be participating in the intrastate relay. Bourbonnais Police will be passed the Flame of Hope and begin their role as “Guardians of the Flame” beginning at approximately 1:00 p.m. from 9000N Road in Manteno and heading southbound on N. Convent St. (Route 45/52).

While they have been treating standing water over the past several weeks, our Public Works trucks will start their seasonal 'fogging' soon. Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais is pleased to announce a new community garden being planted at Jordan Park located at 59 Jordan Drive.
Residents of all ages are invited to attend two open house informational events on Monday, April 24, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or Wednesday, May 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both events will take place in the Community Room within the Municipal Center at 700 Main Street NW. Registration is not required.
Bourbonnais, IL - The individual will report to the Director of Public Works. Duties include seasonal grounds maintenance and is primarily outdoors. Applicant must be able to operate small equipment, such as but not limited to lawn mowers, weed wackers, trimmers, etc. Must be able to pass drug test, have a valid Illinois driver’s license, able to lift 50 pounds and have achieved the age of 18 years.
Bourbonnais, IL – On behalf of Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), the Village of Bourbonnais is assisting in outreach efforts for transportation study participants. The study, sponsored by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), will be conducted by VTTI the week of March 27, in Bourbonnais. Participants will observe roadway lighting at several interchanges along Interstate 57. This project provides compensation of $60 for full participation.
