The Bourbonnais Business District Plan creates a funding mechanism that the Village may use to assist in the development and redevelopment of a blighted area of the community.
Revenues generated by an additional 1.0% sales tax on most items sold at retail in the Business District, as well as on rental of hotel/motel rooms in the District, are retained by the Village and can be used by the Village for payment of a wide-range of projects and activities.
