Village of Bourbonnais offices are collecting coins for Christmas Shop with a Cop
Bourbonnais, IL - The Bourbonnais Police Department annually participates in the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department annual Shop with a Cop event. Village of Bourbonnais offices will be collecting donations this month to help provide Kankakee County children with a special Christmas experience.
Officers will pick them up at home in a police vehicle and ride to breakfast at McDonald's, followed by shopping for gifts at Wal-Mart and returning home with their gifts and a food basket for their families to have a holiday meal.
2018 contributions helped 92 children (ages 6-12) shop with over 70 officers for gifts for themselves, each also received hats, gloves and books, and went home with a food basket for their 53 families.
In-person donations are accepted at the following locations Monday through Friday during business hours:
- Administration Building - 600 Main St. NW
- Police Department - 700 Main St. NW
- Public Works Department - 255 Mooney Dr.
