Fuel & food now available at Bourbonnais Parkway
Bourbonnais, IL - Friday, February 21st, the Village of Bourbonnais, along with the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, officially welcomed the first business to open at the new I-57 Bourbonnais Parkway interchange. Gas N Wash, a 7,000 square foot facility located at the southwest corner of Bourbonnais Parkway and Route 45/52, features a retail convenience store, two drive-through restaurants - Dunkin' Donuts and Ta Canjio Taco Truck, automobile fueling islands, commercial vehicle diesel fueling islands, along with a 4,900 square foot automatic car wash and vacuum stations. The project broke ground in May 2019 and was the first permit issued at the recently-opened Bourbonnais Parkway.
Owner and Manager, Leonard McEnery, was present at the grand opening ribbon cutting and stated, "This is more than just a gas station. It's a place for the community."
"This is first of many groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings," explained Mayor Paul Schore. "The village is currently fielding much interest at Bourbonnais Parkway. Gas stations always take the lead with new development at interchanges. There are many wonderful opportunities ahead, and we look forward to seeing the progression."
The I-57 Bourbonnais Parkway interchange project broke ground in July 2015 and opened in November 2018. It is projected to serve as an economic hub for not only the direct villages of Bourbonnais, Manteno and Bradley, but for Kankakee County. Over 1,400 acres are available for industrial and commercial development.
