Event and Skate Plaza

group of kids at event and skate plazaIn October 2016, a new Event and Skate Plaza was unveiled behind the Village of Bourbonnais Administrative Building and the Municipal Center as a collaborative effort between the Village of Bourbonnais and the Bourbonnais Township Park District, with contributions from the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival. The project was initiated and largely-driven by the efforts of School Resource Officer (SRO) Travis Garcia of the Bourbonnais Police Department when SRO Garcia recognized a local need for kids who were skating in non-designated areas. The park now serves as a safe gathering place for area youth.
