3rd annual event features Bourbonnais students

Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais kicks off the holiday season with the third annual “Rockin’ Around the Tree Lighting.” Hear holiday carols from Bourbonnais students Thursday, November 30, at 6 p.m. The community is invited to attend the festive outdoor event held at 131 S. Main St.

“Rockin’ Around the Tree Lighting” will include:

• Lighting of the Village tree by Mayor Paul Schore along with special tree lighting honoree, Savannah Zirbel

• Alan Shepard Elementary School - 3rd graders, under the direction of Emily Heald

• Kankakee Area Career Center – Preschool, under the direction of Peggy Buehler and Tiffany Miller

• St. Paul’s Lutheran School – K-8 graders, under the direction of Diane Dyche

Warm up with Connect Roasters, serving hot chocolate and seasonal favorites available for purchase at their new location at 141 S. Main St. Attendees can additionally enjoy food available from the Chick-fil-A food truck and a sweet treat special from Dairy Queen with $1 small cones at the Bourbonnais location from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Santa Clause will be making a special stop along with the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District, Bourbonnais Police and Bourbonnais Public Works for an opportunity to “Touch a Truck.”
